Will Kirstie Alley or Ralph Macchio make it into the Dancing With The Stars finale?
Now that Dancing with the Stars is down to four contestants, I see them as being easily split into two groups. On one side we have the favorites, Hines and Chelsea. On the other are the underdogs, Kirstie Alley and Ralph Macchio.
Ralph Macchio has shown the moxy that made his Karate Kid character famous. He admitted early on to having never danced like this, but overcame his fear and had has some great moments. He has also has some not so great moments, but has always come back from them and showed he was not giving up. Then the injuries started taking over. Mostly it was his bad knee that caused him soreness until last week on DWTS when a cyst in the knee burst and caused him extreme pain. He gutted it out and somehow even with only a few hours of rehearsal got out there and danced. His scores were not the best, but the fans picked him up. Are we in for a storybook ending with Ralph Macchio making it to the finals? I think he is still an underdog, but I would never count him out.
Kirstie Alley, in my opinion, started off very strong, went downhill fast and then leveled out. After a couple of mishaps she has strung together a series of consistent dances. I have said all along that the judges have been too easy on her and that I didn’t think she was up to the level of the other dances. I stand by that and I think that eventually, maybe this week, the judges will be a little harder on her. In my eyes Kirstie Alley has had one hell of a run on Dancing with the Stars, but of the remaining four she is the biggest longshot to win the competition.
Tonight all four dancers must dance three times. That will be a major challenge. Tune in tonight at 8PM on ABC to see if Ralph Macchio’s knee can hold up to another hard week and to see if Kirstie Alley gets a dose of reality from the Dancing With The Stars judges.
